New 1.3 Multijet-II engine with 95 CV for the Fiat 500 and 500C

500

Following the launch of the 1.3 Multijet with 70 CV back in 2003, Fiat now announces a new generation of Multijet technology capable of producing 95 CV, making it the only turbodiesel presence in the 500 and 500C models.

This new engine adds several advances, such as a new particulate filter, a new stratified fuel injection, and a variable-geometry turbocharger. It delivers a total output of 95 CV at 4,000 rpm, with 200 Nm of torque developed at 1,500 rpm.

As for performance, it is capable of a top speed of 180 km/h with a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 10.7 seconds. However, its best features are its consumption and emissions figures, as it reduces consumption by 0.3 l/100 km compared to the 75 CV 1.3 Mjet, reaching a consumption of 3.9 l/100 km with emissions of 104 g/km. In addition, the engine is paired with a Stop&Start system that shuts the engine off when stopped at traffic lights.

Therefore, the 500 and 500C range will consist of four different engines: the 75 and 95 CV Multijet and, on the other hand, the 1.2 8v 69 CV and 1.4 16v 100 CV in their petrol versions. Finally, prices for Spain have not yet been set, but as an example, in Italy the 500 with this new engine and the Pop trim is on sale for around 13,900 euros.
