The German compact will receive before the end of this year a pair of new TDI engines, in both the three-door version and the Sportback. The first powertrain is the 1.6 TDI producing 105 CV, paired with the S-Tronic automatic gearbox. The second is the 2.0 TDI producing 140 CV, available with either a six-speed manual or the S-Tronic transmission, and also offered with front-wheel drive or Quattro all-wheel drive.

In addition, the 2.0 TDI has been updated to reduce its CO2 emissions from 143 down to 119 grams per kilometre in the case of front-wheel drive, which avoids the need to pay the registration tax. Likewise, Audi has fitted as standard the Start/Stop automatic engine start-stop system and energy recuperation on the 1.4 TFSI engines producing 125 CV together with the S-Tronic gearbox, the 1.6 TDI and the 2.0 TDI, the latter in both drivetrain options.

The new A3 1.6 TDI will go on sale for 23,380 euros in Attraction trim and the three-door version, and for 24,750 in the case of the Sportback. As for the 2.0 TDI, the three-door A3 with front-wheel drive and that engine is priced at 24,550 euros, rising to 27,710 euros when fitted with Quattro all-wheel drive. On the Sportback, those figures become 25,900 euros and 29,110 euros respectively.

Finally, the Attraction trim is refreshed with 16-inch lightweight alloy wheels in two available designs, a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a Concert radio, 205/55 R16 tyres and an on-board computer.
