New Aston Martin Vantage: the little brother of the DB11 gets a makeover
Aston Martin has just given one of its longest-serving products, the Vantage, a makeover. It features a completely new design and a twin-turbo V8 engine.

Supercars continue to evolve little by little, and the innovations they bring are becoming more and more spectacular. This is also present in brands such as Aston Martin, a British firm that has for years been building some of the most elegant sports cars in the world. But to keep up with this ranking, the brand has had to update one of its oldest vehicles, the Aston Martin Vantage.
It was in 2005 that we first met the most modest Aston Martin. The brand opted for a vehicle less radical than its bigger siblings, but one that would still keep the characteristic essence of English sports cars. The creation of the Vantage was a huge success and the firm hit the mark. The brand aimed to reach a younger audience with its new product.
Aston Martin has decided it was high time to improve one of its longest-running sports cars. The British firm starts from the same idea they had in 2005, but reworking the Vantage down to the smallest detail. The exterior design is characterised by adopting the new patterns that Aston Martin is using.

It is fairly easy to make out a series of lines that remind us of its big brother, the DB11. Its styling features an imposing front end that has been completely redesigned. The same goes for the rear, which adopts light clusters never before seen on any Aston Martin product. It has a small spoiler at the end of the tailgate that partly recalls the design of the first Vantage.
As far as the interior is concerned, it inherits a set of components identical to those used in the DB11 and, in turn, in Mercedes. This is thanks to the agreement between Aston Martin and Mercedes, under which the British firm uses the German brand’s infotainment system and engines. Without a doubt, Aston Martin has taken a very big leap forward in interior design and the new Vantage is a clear example of this.

Mechanically speaking, there is a twin-turbo V8 engine that also takes centre stage in the AMG GTS and other products from the German firm. The Vantage’s powerplant produces 510 CV and 685 Nm of torque. This allows the English sports car to reach 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and gives a top speed of 308 km/h.
All this power is sent exclusively to the rear axle and, to ensure the whole system works perfectly, Aston Martin has fitted an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The technology side has also been carefully worked on and the new Vantage comes with the latest innovations.
Without a doubt the new Vantage is attractive and elegant, but at the same time it still exudes sportiness. These are the key elements behind the success of the Aston Martin sports car, but so is its price. For now we don’t know how much it will cost in our country, but the British firm has stated that its base price in Germany is 154,000 euros.
