New Nissan Navara 2015: more versions and better equipped

The new D40 generation of the Nissan Navara, presented last June, has been in production in Thailand since this summer. Outside Asia, the current generation, the D23, still has a few months left. In order to keep the product from ageing too much (it is ten years old and its last update came in 2009), Nissan has announced several improvements for the 2015 range at the Hannover Commercial Vehicle Show.

The updates begin with the introduction of stability control as standard across all trims, new 17-inch alloy wheels, two additional body colours (bronze and grey), and higher-quality upholstery for the SE and LE trims. Adding these items as standard represents a saving of 800 euros compared with buying them as accessories before the update.

In terms of engines, the 144 hp version of the 2.5-litre dCi can now be ordered with the SE trim. Fuel consumption and emissions figures are identical to those of the XE trim: 8.2 l/100 km and 215 g/km of CO2. The main additions to the SE’s equipment over the XE are air conditioning and a sound system with a CD player and Bluetooth hands-free system.

The SE also includes a chrome grille, height-adjustable driver’s seat, side airbags and speed control with limiter. The LE trim is distinguished by offering a Premium navigation system, rear-view camera, roof bars, cruise control, heated seats, rain sensor, electric mirrors and tinted windows. The top-of-the-range LE V6 features leather and Alcantara upholstery, a steel front bar and 18-inch alloy wheels.
