New Peugeot Partner Tepee Electric, now much more efficient

Owning an electric van, whether for family or professional use (the latter being the most likely), can be a perfectly valid option, especially if you are someone who needs it to get around the city every day. Ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, Peugeot is offering this option: a Partner Tepee Electric that will be fully electric.

While the Peugeot Partner Tepee already has fairly efficient engines, with this Electric version we get 100% efficiency, and we also benefit from the tax advantages it brings, not to mention the mechanical benefits: a 100,000 km or eight-year warranty for the batteries and a 50,000 km or five-year warranty for the electric drivetrain, whichever comes first; servicing every two years or 40,000 km after the first year. We also forget about oil or coolant, since there is no clutch and no gearbox, meaning fewer components to check and, of course, significant savings on diesel.

The motor of the Peugeot Partner Tepee Electric is already an old acquaintance of the French manufacturer, which has been using and testing it for three years. It is a compact electric motor, a synchronous permanent-magnet unit that delivers 67 CV of power and 200 Nm of torque. It also has two lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 22.5 kWh, located on each side of the rear suspension, so they don’t reduce the vehicle’s cargo capacity.

Peugeot certifies that with these batteries the Partner Tepee Electric will have a range of 170 km. Once they are depleted, we can recharge them without any problem at home, although charging time can be 8.5, 12 or 15 hours depending on the amperage. Alternatively, if we use the CHAdeMO fast-charging plug, we can have 80% of the battery charged in 30 minutes.

As for its features, it will remain the versatile Partner Tepee we know, with a capacity of up to 1,350 litres with five passengers, rising to 3,000 litres if only the two front seats are kept. It will also come with good equipment, both standard and optional, highlights of which include cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, air conditioning, rear-view camera and a 7-inch colour touchscreen for the infotainment system and its various functions.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the Peugeot Partner Tepee Electric will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show, and it will reach the various markets from September.
