New Renault Captur 2020: range and prices for Spain

Renault launches the new Captur 2020, starting from under 15,000 euros for the entry-level version with the 1.0 100 CV petrol engine, including a financing discount.

On the occasion of our road test of the new Renault Captur during the international presentation in Greece, we gave you some key insights into what the new model offers and which engine variant to choose.

Now, Renault has opened the online configurator for the new Captur on its website, so we can complete that information with details on equipment and prices.

Four trims: Life, Intens, Zen and Zen+

As you’ll see in the table, not all trims are available with every engine. For that reason, it’s worth considering the standard equipment of each one, the price of stepping up to the next trim, and what it includes in addition.

The Life versions, the entry point to the range, available only with the 1.0 100 CV engine, come as standard with LED daytime running lights, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, light sensor, and cruise control with speed limiter. There is also a comprehensive suite of assistance systems, including emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and a safe-distance alert. Air conditioning is an extra here. The list price including the promotional discount is 16,600 euros, and with financing you can get it from around 14,400 euros.

The next step up is the Intens versions. They cost 1,800 euros more than the Life trim, and are worth paying for, if only for the 7″ Easy Link system and the air conditioning. They also include details such as gloss black mirror caps or the closed centre console with armrest.

Above that is the Zen trim, which costs 2,000 euros more than the Intens. Here you get the Driver Display 7-inch digital instrument cluster, climate control, keyless entry card, rear parking assistance, rain and light sensors, automatic parking brake, two-tone bodywork with contrast roof and tinted rear windows.

The Zen+ trim, available only for the 130 CV and 150 CV engines in EDC version, costs 1,500 euros more than the Zen.

Prices for the new Renault Captur 2020

The following list shows the official prices including the promotional discount. In other words, the price of the Captur for anyone who goes to a dealership. You can also get a significant additional discount linked to financing the purchase with a minimum amount financed of 6,000 euros and 36 instalments.

Our recommended version for tighter budgets would be the Captur TCe 100 CV Intens, which costs 18,400 euros and comes down to just under 16,000 euros with financing. Or the Zen, which is below 18,000 (with financing) and already has the most complete multimedia equipment.

Worth noting that between the 1.0 100 CV petrol engine and the 1.3 130 CV there is barely a 1,100 euro difference. You can think about whether it’s worth paying it. As we mentioned in the road test, the 1.0 100 CV engine is excellent. If you want a sportier driving feel and performance, then the 130 CV. And if you’re going to do a lot of motorway driving, consider the 115 CV dCi, which costs about 1,300 euros more than the 130 CV petrol.

Between the two diesel Captur versions, 95 and 115 CV, there is a 800 euro difference. If you opt for the dCi, it’s worth paying for the more powerful engine, which, by being less stretched, will also consume less fuel.

As for the EDC dual-clutch gearbox, it is offered in combination with the 130 CV petrol engine and the 115 CV dCi. It costs about 1,500 euros, and is highly recommended.
