Here we have the official announcement of Toyota, with image gallery included, of the new RAV 4 2010. The first thing that catches my attention is how much this vehicle has grown in size, price and quality, when originally it was a reasonably cheap and light SUV, and it is now another off-roader closer to the Land Cruiser than to anything else.

A new, more dynamic front end, chrome details on the front grille and on the front fog lights (which have been relocated), together with an interior design that increases the perception of quality are the new hallmarks of this new RAV 4, which aims to grow and become a more affordable version of the Land Cruiser rather than remain further removed from luxury off-roaders.

For now, two engines will be available: the 2.0 VVT-i Valvematic with 158 CV of power and the 2.2 D-CAT with 150 CV, both featuring Toyota Optimal Drive technology that will place them among the most fuel-efficient in the segment. Prices will range from €23,300 to €35,350, varying across the 5 available trim levels and the two-wheel or four-wheel drive, prices not valid for the Canary Islands.

Pearl White, Abyss Blue and Dark Red will be the three colours available alongside the Cross Sport bodywork, which has no roof bars and no spare wheel on the tailgate. The top Executive trim offers a mixed leather and Alcantara upholstery with heated, electrically adjustable seats.
