New Toyota Verso
The Toyota Verso, the compact MPV offered by the Japanese brand within its range of vehicles, has been updated for 2016. On the exterior the changes are barely perceptible, and the same goes for the interior. The new Verso range adds a new body colour (Meteor Grey) and new 16″ and 17″ alloy wheels.
Only details such as the newly designed leather steering wheel, as well as the gear lever with metal and leather finishes, the new graphite-coloured inserts on the centre console, the handbrake lever and the cup holders, are some of the most notable changes inside the cabin.
The Comfort versions feature a new upholstery with embossed inserts on the front and rear parts of the headrests. Meanwhile, the Advance trim versions offer new two-tone seats in Dark Grey and Light Grey, with leather side bolsters.
Interior of the New Toyota Verso
Although it has compact exterior dimensions, the Toyota Verso offers very good interior space for all its occupants, and great flexibility thanks to the Easy Flat seating system, which allows it to meet the varied needs of today’s MPV customers.
It comes loaded with new features in terms of active safety, driver assistance and also infotainment. The entire Toyota Verso range comes as standard with the Safety Sense system consisting of: Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Automatic High Beam (AHB).
Toyota Safety Sense, mounted on the windscreen of the car, uses a laser and a camera to assist the driver in the event of a possible collision or in situations involving other vehicles.
- Pre-Collision System (PCS): operates at speeds between 10 km/h and 80 km/h. It detects vehicles ahead and warns the driver of a possible collision with an audible and visual alert. If the driver does not react in time, the system brakes automatically, bringing the car to a complete stop, thereby avoiding a collision or mitigating the force of the impact.
- Lane Departure Alert (LDA): detects the lane markings and if the vehicle begins to drift without the indicators having been switched on, the system warns the driver with an audible and visual alert.
- Automatic High Beam: ensures excellent visibility when driving at night. It detects the headlights of oncoming vehicles and the tail lights of those ahead, switching between high and low beams and vice versa so as not to dazzle other drivers.

As far as infotainment is concerned, the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system now features a 7″ full-colour touchscreen. In addition, the Toyota Touch 2 & GO and Toyota Touch 2 & GO Plus navigation systems offer navigation improvements and new functions.
The engines available for the new Toyota Verso are: the two 1.6 Valvematic petrol variants with 132 CV (Verso 130) and 1.8 Valvematic with 147 CV (Verso 140), the latter only available with the MultiDrive automatic gearbox, and the sole 1.6 D-4D diesel variant with 112 CV (Verso 115D).
