Nissan Ariya, the new electric SUV from Japan that will compete with the Qashqai
The Japanese brand has presented this fully electric concept model, which will reach the market in 2021 and will be equipped with the PRO Pilot 2.0 system

The Nissan Ariya has been presented as a concept intended for production for the US market, although the Japanese brand does not rule out offering it in other markets as well. Perhaps also in the Spanish market, so we can start getting used to its silhouette in case it reaches our country when it goes into production. The presentation has brought us several images of the model, although the brand is still holding back data to release later on.
Nissan wants to give a twist to the design of its models with this model, which is based mainly on the Nissan IMx concept it presented at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. What the brand has said is that “it signals a new era” for Nissan and that it “is setting out to redefine its brand philosophy for the next evolutionary phase of the automobile“.

The first thing that stands out from the exterior is the closed grille, which replaces the traditional grille usually found on a combustion-engined vehicle and where the company badge is located. The front lights are LED and the roof slopes backwards, just as the 2017 IMx concept showed. The wheels are 21 inches and in the images we can see that, although it is a design evolution, it remains a Nissan.

NISSAN ARIYA
The few details offered by Nissan about the Ariya are that it will use two electric motors at the front and one mounted on the rear axle. The range of this 100% electric model is expected to be 438 kilometres, and we know little more, with no details on the battery, charging time or the power output of its drivetrain.
The Nissan Ariya will feature the PRO Pilot 2.0 driver assistance system, which will make driving much easier thanks to the technological equipment the model offers. The production version should arrive in 2021, to keep company with the new Nissan Qashqai, the company’s best-selling SUV and one with which the Ariya will share some technical characteristics.
