Nissan celebrates the 45th anniversary of the GT-R with a special edition

Celebrating an anniversary is always a reason for joy and festivity. So it is no surprise that Nissan wanted to give a warm welcome to the Nissan GT-R on the launch of this model in the Japanese market. The brand’s sports car reaches its 45th birthday and for that reason it will feature a special edition that celebrates both events, the anniversary and the launch.
The special edition of the GT-R also plays with the number of units that will go on sale, because only 45 units will be offered, one for each year completed. Buyers who want to get one of them will have to wait until January 1 to start reserving it, and will have to pay 10,787.10 yen, which amounts to 91,480 dollars.
This 45th Anniversary limited edition is based on the Premium Edition trim and its main distinguishing feature is the body colour, Silica Brass, which also adorns the Skyline GT-R M-Spec (R34 Type), a model launched in 2001. The styling is reinforced by the exclusive emblem visible on the front. In addition, it will also have a serial number in the engine bay, to certify its membership in this select group of just 45 units.
This applies to the styling alone, because it has been announced that the mechanicals will remain exactly as offered with the Premium Edition trim on which this limited edition is based. It is a 3.8-litre V6 engine that delivers 585 CV of power and a maximum torque of 627 Nm through a six-speed gearbox.
The model is available in Europe, although the special edition will not arrive there, as it is reserved for its original market, which took somewhat longer to receive the launch of the latest generation of this model.
