A few days ago, here at Highmotor, we brought you the first images of the new generation of Nissan’s city car, the Micra. Today we bring you all the detailed information and a complete photo gallery so you can see how one of the most important models of the Japanese brand has evolved.

The new Micra offers a much more refined exterior design, noticeable mainly at both the rear and the front. Inside, it also offers an improvement in material quality, and Nissan boasts that the new Micra comes loaded with technology.

The first changes can be seen at the front, where a new grille with the brand logo sits between two V-shaped pillars. There are also new bumpers and headlights, and even on the trim levels where fog lights are standard, these now have a new, distinctive shape set within a chrome frame.

At the rear, LED rear lights and a lower profile tailgate are the main novelties. To complete the exterior design of our Nissan Micra, new alloy wheels in both 15 and 16 inches are available, as well as a new colour, Pacific Blue pearl, joining the seven existing ones.

The interior of the Micra has also undergone significant changes compared with the previous generation. We can now see a new centre console and a more innovative design for the air-conditioning vents. In addition, all versions from the Naru trim onwards come with an audio system integrated into the centre console, with matt or gloss black finishes. The technological load is headed by the Nissan Connect 2.0 navigation and communication system with a 5.8-inch touchscreen.

This system includes eco-route calculation, which provides the most efficient combination of options for reaching the destination. The system also shows the final consumption results, which allow the driver’s efficiency to be assessed. Another service offered by the navigator is Google Send-To-Car, which lets you plan a route from a computer or tablet.

Meanwhile, Parking Slot Measurement (PSM) makes parking manoeuvres easier by measuring the space and analysing it, indicating whether parking will be easy or not. The system can be adjusted to the driver’s skill and offers three measurement levels: amateur, normal or expert.

As for the engine range, the entry-level engine stands out: the 1.2-litre with 80 CV, with very low consumption and emissions of 115 grams per kilometre. Meanwhile, the top-of-range version produces 98 CV and offers great refinement with diesel-like consumption of just 4.1 l/100 km.

Finally, we must mention the four trim levels: the Visia, the Acenta, the Tekna Sport and the Tekna Premium. The first includes central locking, front electric windows, electric power steering and 14-inch wheels. The intermediate Acenta trim adds chrome decorative elements, body-coloured door handles and mirror housings, 15-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, air conditioning, an armrest for the driver, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, light and rain sensors, and an audio system with CD and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Tekna Sport version adds the new Nissan Connect 2.0 system, 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lights and the parking space measurement system. The top-of-range Tekna Premium adds the Nissan i-Key smart key with start/stop button, 16-inch alloy wheels, velour upholstery, a sunroof and electrically folding mirrors.
