Nissan Z 2023, the new generation of the Fairlady that will not reach Europe
Nissan has just presented its new Nissan Z, the production derivative of the Z Proto which, while remaining faithful to its concept, features some very top ingredients

The Z series is one of the most iconic families in motoring history. A family that began 52 years ago, when the beautiful 240Z was unveiled to the public for the first time, the father of all subsequent generations, and which still serves as a reference for our protagonist today, the new Nissan Z.
Unveiled at the Duggal Greenhouse in New York, the new Nissan Z 2023 has debuted as the successor to the 370Z, improving on its chassis and dynamics, and on top of that, it is now even more powerful than its predecessor. With this new model, Nissan has decided to dispense with the numerical designation, something that has always been the case across all the models of the Z series (240Z, 280ZX, 300ZX Z31, 300ZX Z32, 350Z and 370Z).

Fastback design
The design of this new Nissan Z 2023 makes it very clear that we are looking at a member of the Fairlady family. Part of the credit goes to its long bonnet, its lower rear end and a side silhouette that flows smoothly and genuinely attractively.
At the front we find a very square grille divided into two parts: a more eye-catching upper mesh with rectangular shapes and, in the lower part, a black section through which airflow will be greater and where the driver-assistance systems will be integrated. Added to this, there are very sharp LED headlights which, according to Nissan, were inspired by those of the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG.

The side view is genuinely beautiful, with smooth lines and no need for heavily marked creases. Nissan has worked the bodywork of its new Z, which stands out for its wide hips, a symbol of its legacy, and its fluid shapes. In the options catalogue, Nissan offers different wheel designs of 18 or 19 inches, which, if they conceal red brake calipers, already hint that we are looking at the Performance version.
At the rear, its new rear light clusters are unmistakably inspired by those of the 300ZX Z32, fairly square in shape but, this time, with 3D LED technology. Its sharp, aggressive bumper, made up of a gloss black part and another in the body colour, frames two subtle yet perfect exhaust outlets to finish off the rear view of the Fairlady, together with its small spoiler positioned on the edge of the boot.

Nissan offers three different solid colours and six different configurations with a black roof (Brilliant Silver, Boulder Grey, Seiran Blue, Ikazuchi Yellow, Passion Red and Everest White).
A very technological interior
In its cabin, one of the most anticipated areas of the new generation, as it features a far more advanced technology section compared with the 370Z, the new model has a large 12.5-inch digital instrument cluster combined with a multifunction steering wheel and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

A V6 heart with plenty of character
Under the bonnet we find a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 that delivers 400 CV and a torque of 474 Nm. This unit is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox featuring a Launch Control system in the Performance trim, or, for those who prefer an automatic gearbox, a 9-speed automatic transmission is also offered.
The first units of the new Nissan Z 2023 are scheduled to arrive in the first months of next year, 2022, at a price of around 40,000 dollars.
