Seat has unveiled in Paris its new segment D saloon, the Exeo, whose exterior design has not come as much of a surprise, as it is the same as the renders and teasers that had already appeared. It is based on the A4 B7 platform, the previous generation before the current one, which will offer plenty of options in terms of mechanical components and provide unusually high quality for the brand.

Exteriorly, the differences with the Audi are the front end, which is completely new and inherits features from the new Ibiza, and the rear, with different tail lights and a new boot lid. Inside, the standout is the quality of the finishes, giving the Exeo a level not seen in other Seat, and a very pleasant presentation, at least in the Sport trim shown in the photos with optional leather upholstery.

The Exeo features other new additions compared with its German counterpart, such as a tyre pressure sensor, a driver’s knee airbag, and the first common-rail diesel engines from Seat, which will later be fitted to more models.

The available engines are one diesel in several power outputs and three petrol units. The 2.0-litre diesel comes in three variants with 120, 143 and 170 CV of power. In petrol, the range starts with the 1.6 MPi with 102 CV, followed by the 1.8i with 150 CV and 2.0i with 200 CV, both TSI with turbo, direct injection and multivalve cylinder heads.

As for prices, they will start at 22,000 euros for the 1.6 Reference, which includes air conditioning, tyre pressure sensor, several airbags, ESP, TCS, ABS + EBD, a sound system and electric pack.
