Opel at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013

Opel is another brand that is in its element, with a show in its home country. That is why Opel’s new products include seven world premieres, among them the new Opel Insignia OPC, with a more modern look, an improved chassis and innovative infotainment systems.
The 2.8-litre V6 engine producing 325 hp and a maximum torque of 435 Nm catapults the Opel sports car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds. The world premiere of the Insignia Country Tourer was also held, the adventure variant of the new Insignia family, as well as the five-door saloon, four-door sedan and Sports Tourer models.
Opel also shows the public what future mobility will look like with the world premiere of the Concept Monza, Opel’s vision of efficient and connected mobility. At the same time, Opel will showcase new models and infotainment solutions such as the ADAM Black Link and ADAM White Link.
Another of the Frankfurt novelties is the new generation of engines. A new 1.6 SIDI Turbo with 200 hp for the Cabrio and the new family of small petrol engines, combined with the new six-speed gearbox, also make their debut in Frankfurt.
Insignia OPC

The Insignia OPC makes its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a new and updated look, with a redesigned front and rear. The OPC chassis has been improved, with special attention to the revised new rear axle. The new ESP software allows an even more precise dynamic tuning, especially in the reactions to understeer.
The announced performance includes acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds (Sports Tourer in 6.3 s) and a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). In the unlimited version, the OPC with manual gearbox reaches a top speed of 270 km/h (Sports Tourer: 265 km/h).
Under the bonnet, the new powerful and ultra-efficient direct-injection engines, such as the new petrol unit and the new turbo diesel with emissions of 99 g of CO2, expand the wide range of engine options.
Insignia Country Tourer

The third world premiere is the Insignia Country Tourer. While its sibling, the Sports Tourer, is an elegant estate for family and business use, the new Insignia Country Tourer expresses the more adventurous side.
Its defining elements include underbody protection at the front and rear, combined with pronounced wheel arches and a lower body cladding, all complemented by a dual exhaust outlet. In Spain it will be paired with two direct-injection turbo diesels, the 2.0 CDTI with 163 hp and the high-performance 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI with an impressive maximum torque of 400 Nm.
Concept Monza

Efficiency and connectivity are the two most prominent aspects of the Concept Monza, a preview of what is to come. All information is delivered through projection technology on an instrument panel that spans door to door. This concept shows what customers can expect from Opel in the future.
1.0-litre SIDI turbo engine with 115 hp
With 3 new engine families and 13 new engines by 2016, Opel has begun by offering the new SIDI Turbo (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) of newly developed three-cylinder design with 115 hp, which will make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
This 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is not only environmentally friendly, it also sets a new benchmark for three-cylinder engines, with refinement and vibration levels superior to many four-cylinder units. This new engine also delivers 166 Nm of torque from 1,800 to 4,700 rpm. It will debut with a newly developed six-speed gearbox in the Opel Adam next year.
Cabrio 1.6 SIDI turbo with 200 hp

The high-performance version of the new Opel 1.6 SIDI turbo engine, with 200 hp, 300 Nm of torque with the overboost function and a top speed of 235 km/h, is presented.
Another of the engines in Opel’s new generation of four-cylinder engines that use direct petrol injection. This second new variant reaches the maximum output of the Opel 1.6-litre class. It joins the 1.6 turbo SIDI with 170 hp/125 kW that had already been introduced at the Cabrio’s market launch in spring.
