The Opel Insignia Country Tourer will be the top of the Insignia range. It offers all-wheel drive and greater interior space.

Opel has unveiled a new variant of its best-selling saloon: Insignia Country Tourer. This model will be presented after the summer at the Frankfurt Motor Show and represents the top of the Insignia range. It offers a more robust appearance than the other versions – Grand Sport and Sports Tourer – and its all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring makes it a highly capable vehicle off the beaten track.

The Insignia Country Tourer will debut a new diesel engine that will be the most powerful in the range. This model will be available with the new eight-speed automatic gearbox, as well as with an all-wheel drive system with torque vectoring (a system that adjusts the distribution of power between the rear wheels to optimise the vehicle’s grip).

This allroad-oriented saloon introduces the new FlexRide adaptive chassis from Opel, which delivers optimal behaviour in very different situations. This system adjusts the damping, steering, throttle response and shift pattern (on automatic cars) either independently or through the selectable driving modes: Normal, Sport or Tour. The FlexRide chassis recognises each driver’s driving style and adapts its setup accordingly.

The Insignia Country Tourer features an SUV-inspired look thanks to an all-black full underbody cladding and silver front and rear underride protection plates. Beyond its muscular styling, it is an eminently practical car. The cargo capacity has been increased to 1,665 litres – 130 litres more than the previous version – and includes the option of 40/20/40 folding rear seats, which allow the cargo area to be configured more flexibly.

In addition, the wheelbase has been lengthened by 92 mm, offering a much roomier interior that particularly benefits rear passengers, who also get seat heating (a feature usually reserved for the front seats but rare in the back).

The Opel Insignia Country Tourer comes with the latest technologies and driver assistance systems on the market. This model offers the brand’s innovative IntelliLux LED lighting systemopel-insignia-country-tourer-3, whose headlights include a total of 16 LED segments and functions such as cornering light. Among the optional equipment on this version are the Head-Up Display (HUD) information screen, the 360º camera, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist with automatic steering correction, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The new Opel Insignia Country Tourer will open for orders in Spain from mid-summer. It will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show – from 14 to 24 September – and will reach dealerships shortly afterwards.
