'Paint to Sample' from Porsche: this is the new personalisation programme from the Stuttgart brand
Would you like to drive a Porsche in your favourite colour? Now it is possible thanks to the Paint to Sample programme from the Stuttgart brand.

Have you ever imagined driving your dream car painted in your favourite colour? The Stuttgart brand wants to make your dreams come true and is developing a paint programme called Paint to Sample that will allow drivers to choose the colour of their dreams for their future Porsche. Can you imagine a Porsche in Magenta? It is now possible.
The German luxury car brand has confirmed that, thanks to the Paint to Sample programme, more than 160 new colours have been pre-approved for its models. If you want to personalise your car to the maximum, you will have to opt for the Paint to Sample Plus programme. Depending on the Porsche model chosen, you would have a palette of colours available. To give you an idea, more than 100 colours will be offered for the Porsche 911 and Porsche 718.

Can you imagine driving a fully personalised Porsche?
The Porsche Cayenne, Panamera and Macan will have a colour palette with more than 50 options. In contrast, the Porsche Taycan will have a palette of 65 colours through the Paint to Sample programme. The Porsche plant in Zuffenhausen has a new colour-mixing bank that began operating earlier this year. This has allowed the Stuttgart brand to increase production of the Porsche 911. Currently, five units leave the production line with Paint to Sample. A figure that is not bad at all, since the total daily output of the 911 is 20 units.
While the prices of standard colours, whether metallic or not, range between 600 and 3,200 euros, the Paint to Sample paint colours are somewhat more expensive. In fact, their prices are around 10,000 euros for the Porsche 911 and the Porsche 718. For the Porsche 718 GT, the Porsche 911 Turbo, the Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Porsche 911 GT3, the price rises to 12,000 euros.

It should be noted that the Paint to Sample Plus programme goes further. The customer provides a sample to their dealership. This is sent to Porsche AG, where it undergoes quality and feasibility tests. This process is somewhat slow, as it can take almost a year. Prices for most models with Paint to Sample Plus can rise to 20,000 euros, but can reach 26,000 euros on the Porsche 911 Turbo, 911 GT3 or 718 GT.
Kjell Gruner, president and chief executive officer of Porsche Cars North America, has stated that “individualisation is at the core of Porsche. Paint to Sample is essential to meet that demand. With this offer, we are bringing many historic colours back to life and expanding the catalogue to a total of more than 160 options“.
