Paris Motor Show 2012: Suzuki
Suzuki presented the S-Cross concept, a future successor to the SX4, along with a new Grand Vitara, as key models at the Paris Motor Show.

Suzuki had a busier stand than we expected, thanks to the presence of the S-Cross. However, almost its entire model range was also on display, from the Alto, Splash, Swift, Swift Sport, SX4 and Jimny up to the Grand Vitara, although not all of them were new.
The most notable was the S-Cross, a crossover that kicks off the brand’s European launch programme, at a rate of one new vehicle per year. Quite large for a compact crossover, perhaps it is just an impression created by the 20-inch wheels, the S-Cross features full LED lighting and a new front design compared to the SX4 or Grand Vitara.
The S-Cross has been designed primarily with the premise of being a concept focused exclusively on comfort and plenty of interior space, as well as a fairly voluminous cargo compartment, as we had the chance to see.
As for the mechanical details, there is still no decision regarding engines, but it has become known that it will be offered with either all-wheel or front-wheel drive, while offering very tight fuel consumption. Suzuki has also reported that it will improve the all-wheel drive system already offered on other models, to apply it to the production versions of the S-Cross and perhaps to other models of the brand.
The Suzuki Grand-Vitara Urban showed us what will be its first front-wheel-drive model, the first in its class in the history of the model. The new Urban will feature a three-door and five-door configuration and will have the same engines as the traditional Grand Vitara, from a 2.4-litre unit up to the turbo diesel model for Europe.
