Parking with Ford will be much easier thanks to its new technology
Ford has taken part as a partner in the UK Autodrive project, which will allow drivers to find a parking space much more easily.

Thinking about the amount of time spent looking for safe parking is enough to give us chills, due to the stress and exhaustion this tedious task can cause. The engineers of several companies thought the same, who very fortunately have hit the nail on the head in solving a problem that affects all drivers almost every day. Thanks to the participation of Ford and the latest technology that has been under development, parking will be much easier and more comfortable.
Ford wanted to join this project as a partner, called UK Autodrive, a programme sponsored by the British Government itself, an institution that has provided a budget of 22 million, with the aim of bringing new technologies to the streets. On this occasion they have focused on making life easier for those desperate drivers looking for a parking space quickly and precisely.
The American firm has been key to the development of this idea, since its vehicles and its advances in different fields have helped to confirm that one day we will be able to see these innovations inside our own car. It is a system designed to inform the driver how many free spaces are available and exactly where, functioning as a kind of exclusive navigator for parking. Once established, we will all be able to enjoy this latest technology and avoid spending too much time parking instead of getting on with our task.

Within this research team, the development of autonomous driving is also being carried out, a technology that will fit perfectly with this new “collaborative parking” system. This innovation will be enhanced by the autonomous parking system offered by many current models, making it even easier to enter a car park; however, the most ingenious and eye-catching aspect of the project is how the vehicle is able to detect free spaces.
Thanks to the parking sensors of other vehicles themselves, our Ford will be able to detect how many spaces are already occupied and exactly where they are. If it is not possible to detect the sensors of other cars, this technology will also incorporate data from the tracking systems of car parks and garages, which will automatically indicate the same information that will be shown on a central screen alongside other vehicle functions.

With this participation, Ford intends to keep advancing and innovating with ingenious alternatives to everyday problems that make our day a little more irritating. Thanks to the collaboration of other companies, we will soon be able to enjoy these systems inside our cars and have access to the latest technology launched on the market.
