Peugeot 5008, an MPV designed for travel

When summer arrives, the number of trips increases considerably. These are usually longer journeys shared as a couple or with the family. In this case, MPVs can be a very good option, thanks to their space and modularity. The Peugeot 5008, with its 4.5 metres in length, a total height of 1.6 metres and a width of 2.1 metres, adapts to the needs of each customer, whatever those may be.

In the Style and Allure trim levels it is available with 7 seats. Another highlight is the modularity it offers its occupants: by folding down the third row of seats, the boot volume can reach a maximum of 823 litres, expandable to 2,506 litres by also folding down the second row of seats.

In addition, the front passenger seat can be folded down to form a tray, creating a loading length of up to 2.76 metres. In this way, the luggage of all passengers or any large item to be transported will fit easily inside the Peugeot 5008. Roof bars or the bicycle carrier are among the other equipment items designed to increase the vehicle’s external modularity.

The elevated driving position and large windscreen make it easy to handle any situation on the road. The controls on the centre console are very simple and intuitive to use. So as not to lose track of what is happening ahead of the vehicle, the retractable colour screen and Head-Up Display allow you to check speed information, cruise control or the speed limiter.

It features Distance Alert technology (the time gap between the vehicle and the one in front), which can be programmed with the toggle switches, and displays a visual alert on the Head-Up Display when this minimum distance is exceeded.

The Peugeot 5008 also incorporates a child-monitoring rear-view mirror, the video pack (with two screens behind the front-row seats) or the WIP-Nav Plus pack (comprising GPS navigation system, colour screen, European mapping, Bluetooth hands-free kit with audio streaming, and USB and Jack sockets).

The entire range of engines available for the Peugeot 5008 complies with the Euro 6 standard for emissions. As for the petrol engines, it offers the 1.6-litre THP 165 hp Stop & Start engine paired with the EAT6 automatic gearbox with torque converter, and the 1.2-litre PureTech 130 hp Stop & Start engine, which won the “International Engine of the Year” award.

The diesel range consists of the 2.0 BlueHDi 150 hp and the 1.6 BlueHDi 120 hp paired with the EAT6 automatic gearbox with torque converter. These engines record consumption and emissions from 4.1 l/100 km and 106 g/km of CO2.
