Pininfarina and Mahindra join forces to create Automobili Pininfarina
Automobili Pininfarina is born from the union of Pininfarina and Mahindra, the Indian car manufacturer, and they expect to launch their first electric model in 2020

Everyone knows the name Pininfarina, one of the most recognised design houses in the automotive world. And when someone from this category embarks on a business venture, it is worth paying attention. Pininfarina has joined forces with the manufacturer Mahindra to take a step forward and come together under one brand to create Automobili Pininfarina.
This is not the first time it has announced something similar, but on this occasion it is not a matter of lending its expertise to another company to build vehicles in collaboration with them. Automobili Pininfarina is a full-fledged brand in which both Pininfarina and Mahindra take part jointly to launch vehicles that will make more than a few of us dream.

There is not much information about what this brand will offer, but everything suggests that the Italian house will be responsible for designing the car, while the technical aspects, such as the electric powertrain, will be handled by Mahindra. The Indian manufacturer has taken part in Formula E and therefore has more than solid experience in the electric car market.
Automobili Pininfarina wants to devote itself to the “manufacturing of high-tech, luxury electric vehicles with extreme performance for the most demanding customers in the world“, according to its leaders, the grandson of the founder of the Italian design firm and the owner of Mahindra, Anand Mahindra.
They have stated that they will create collector vehicles available to only a few, who will be able to enjoy all the luxury on offer without worrying about environmental impact, since they will be entirely electric-powered. The first model to emerge from this business union will probably be called the PF-Zero.
Pininfarina will not stop collaborating with other manufacturers because of its union with Mahindra. In fact, we already know it is working with Hybrid Kinetic Group on three crossovers that will compete directly with the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne and Macan models, as we discovered in an earlier article. There are no photos of this model yet, but we can dream about what the joint work of these two automotive giants will offer us.
