Pininfarina’s stand at the Geneva Motor Show will feature a new addition this year. A week ago, the Italian design house announced its collaboration with Fittipaldi Motors to create a supercar in concept form, the Fittipaldi EF7; now it surprises with this premium saloon concept that will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show. The model in the image has been built by Hybrid Kinetic Group, will be named H600, and has been designed by Pininfarina.

Hybrid Kinetic Group, based in Hong Kong (China), is a company focused on the development, manufacture and sale of electric vehicles. Neither HKG (Hybrid Kinetic Group) nor Pininfarina have given many details about the prototype that will debut next March in Geneva; they have only revealed that it will be a luxury saloon that is “elegant and comfortable” and will use an engine with some kind of “modern propulsion”. Given that HKG is a company specialising in electric motors, it is to be expected that the H600 prototype will use a powertrain of this kind, although the option of a hybrid unit cannot be ruled out.

Pininfarina is having many difficulties collaborating with the major car manufacturers. The large carmakers increasingly rely on in-house design for their vehicles, prototypes and low-volume models.

The only vehicles that in recent months have involved the Italian firm’s design work are the Ferrari Sergio and the BMW Gran Lusso Coupe. However, the Eastern car market and developing companies (including HKG itself) seem to offer new business opportunities for the Italian brand.
