Porsche 904 Carrera Gullwing-America

Gullwing-America has created this modern-day replica of the Porsche 904, based on a Porsche Boxster.

Among all the historic models of Porsche worth remembering alongside the 911 and the 356, the 904 is not as well known, but it has not been forgotten. Over the years, many have wondered what would have happened if the Stuttgart company had not limited itself to producing the roughly 130 units it needed for GT homologation, and had built it in large series.

Recently, many builders of replicas have set out to revive the 904. One of them, Gullwing-America, not only presents a spectacular replica, but its construction does not rely on fibreglass and plastic, nor on a makeshift chassis; It uses a Porsche Boxster 2005-2011. As it could not be otherwise, only the exterior tells you it is a 904, because underneath you will find the same engine as the Boxster, good for almost 300 horsepower.

I really like this kind of retro model with modern technology. Although this 904 is a disguised Boxster, Gullwing-America has worked hard to keep the atmosphere as original as possible inside the car. It comes with everything you would find in a modern car, such as navigation, multimedia devices, air conditioning and an iPod connection; the difference is that a special dashboard and centre console have been made to match the historical period of the 904, so whoever buys this car will get a good balance between the new and the old.

On the outside the same philosophy has been applied, with an active rear spoiler and LED lights, not to mention the wheels specially designed for the model.

All of this that you see will cost 70,000 euros, not counting the Porsche Boxster that will serve as the donor of parts for this uncommon retro adventure.
