Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

After several long weeks of waiting since the supposed first “official” photos of this interesting model came to light, Porsche has finally decided to make a reality of what we all already knew and what will ultimately serve as the farewell, without a doubt with honours, of the current generation of the 911.
As has been discussed on many occasions, this new road car will mount the interesting 4.0-litre, six-cylinder flat-six engine, hence its name, which until now was only fitted to the incredible Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Even so, the good work carried out on it deserves a mention, as a result of which the output has risen to 500 hp and 460 Nm of peak torque.

At this point, it is worth highlighting certain elements that this vehicle retains and that have been taken directly from the competition model, such as the crankshaft with titanium connecting rods and forged pistons, or a styling that, while not as radical, is far more aggressive than that of any other Porsche in the range.
Basically, this aggressive appearance is the idea that Porsche has of what a true customer racer should be, that is, a vehicle designed for competition that still retains certain elements that make it suitable for public roads. Among the most significant features of this Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 are a wider track, lowered ride height, an adjustable rear wing, side deflectors located in the front bumper and a genuinely attractive double exhaust outlet, very similar to that featured on the 911 GT3 RS.

Naturally, Porsche has benefited from the properties of carbon fibre for the construction of all these new elements, as this noble material will be present in the bonnet, front wings and, above all, the cabin. On the other hand, it is worth highlighting the replacement of the rear windows with ones made of plastic, and of the interior leather, which this time gives way to Alcantara, much lighter and more attractive aesthetically. As you can see, in a vehicle of these characteristics, every gram that can be saved must be removed. The result is a weight of 1,360 kg, 10 kg less than its sibling, the 911 GT3 RS.
Now, what makes this new Porsche special? Precisely the performance obtained from the new 4.0-litre engine producing 500 hp, enough power to deliver figures such as 125 hp per litre, or data such as the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds or from 0 to 200 km/h in just 12 seconds.
Finally, I would only say that if you are interested in the vehicle, it will reach the market from July of this year at a price of 200,146 euros, in a limited edition of just 600 units.
