Last Wednesday one of the numerous itineraries offered by the Porsche Travel Club to its members got under way. It lasts five days, covers Rome and its surroundings, and two versions are offered, each with twenty participants, priced at around 4,500 to 5,000 euros, taking place on different dates. Both share some stops, but the one that draws the most attention is the one that takes place tonight, Saturday the 18th.

Pope Francis recently announced that the Vatican will allow private companies to use the Sistine Chapel in the Apostolic Palace to organise events, provided the profits are donated to charitable works. Porsche has been the first to enjoy that privilege, and the 40 members who signed up for the two variants of this Porsche Travel Club trip will today enjoy a classical music concert beneath the frescoes painted by Michelangelo.

The attendees, among whom Pope Francis will not be present, will listen to the choir of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, whose origins date back to the 16th century. Afterwards they will attend a dinner held in the Vatican Museums that will close this very special day.

Concerts have previously been held in the Sistine Chapel, but all were organised by the Church. The first variant of the itinerary ends tomorrow, but the other twenty members following the second will still have two more days to explore the Lazio region until Tuesday the 21st, when it concludes.
