Porsche Cayman 2013. Information, videos and images
The Porsche Cayman 2013 has been presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It will be available from 57,461 euros with two engines, one with 275 and another with 325 CV, and two gearboxes.

Today marks the opening of the Los Angeles Auto Show, one of the most important events in the automotive calendar. Yesterday we saw the first official images of the new Cayman 2013, and Porsche has now presented its smallest coupé in the North American city. It will reach the market in March next year with a starting price of 57,461 €.
As we have been saying throughout the week, this new Porsche Cayman is essentially a Porsche Boxster with a hard top, although, pending tests of both vehicles, the first is probably more effective when pushed to the limit, while the second offers the chance to drive with the roof down while listening to the roar of its engine.

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR
The design of the new German sports car has been developed from scratch, without using the 2005 version as a base. The Cayman is now lower, longer, lighter, faster, more efficient and more powerful than ever. The wheelbase and track have grown noticeably and, according to the manufacturer, this improves the vehicle’s handling.
The style of the Cayman 2013 has a family resemblance to the other models the brand currently produces, but it stands apart through the use of unique fog lights and an aluminium tail section into which a deployable rear spoiler is integrated. This rises from the bodywork at a steeper angle than on the Boxster.
The cabin interior is literally copied from its sibling, which is no bad thing given the high-quality materials and elegant design of the Boxster. Compared with the model currently on sale, this new one adds unique options such as adaptive cruise control, the Burmester audio system and keyless start-stop entry.

ENGINES
As is customary for this model, there will be only two different engines to choose from, both petrol flat-six units.
The entry-level version, as with the Boxster, is a 2.7-litre capable of delivering 275 CV of power to the rear wheels. This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 266 km/h. Homologated average consumption is between 7.7 and 8.2 litres/100 km.

In the second case, under the Cayman S designation, we find a 3.4-litre engine that increases power up to 325 CV. Thanks to this extra power, the 0 to 100 km/h sprint drops to an incredible 4.7 seconds, while top speed rises to 283 km/h. With this larger engine, fuel consumption rises to 8.8 litres/100 km.
Both models can be specified with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that the brand calls PDK.
