Porsche could be working on a Panamera Cabrio

Not content with producing a sporty luxury saloon, the Bavarian brand appears to want a convertible version as well. Nothing official has been confirmed yet, but the rumours seem to come from insiders at Porsche. Even so, even if it is only a rumour, imagining a Porsche Panamera Cabrio is well worth it.

Its natural rivals would be the beautiful Bentley Continental GT and the freshly unveiled Maserati GranCabrio, both convertibles but with a very generous rear space. This version would carry an extra price of €11,000 and, as always with convertibles, the chassis would need reinforcing to make up for the loss of the saloon’s rigid roof. An absolute delight, without a doubt.

Porsche continues on its path, competing in most segments. Not only in luxury, because we announced recently that since being acquired by VW the Porsche Bluemotion appears to be a priority for its leaders, an Porsche affordable for many more people and significantly cheaper than any model in the Boxster range.

150,000 cars in 2012 was the target they set for optimal sales: certainly a high figure, but with all available vehicles and those yet to come, the truth is that Porsche can hold its own on multiple fronts. A Panamera Cabrio would certainly be a pleasant alternative for Bentley customers.

Gente Porsche no es Baviera, es de Stuttgart en Baden Wüttenberg
En Auto Motor und Sport se puede ver algun render muy bueno del Porsche cabrio
