Porsche indefinitely suspends the Baby Porsche/Porsche 550
Porsche has announced that the Porsche 550 or Baby Porsche has been indefinitely suspended and that in its place a new sports car priced above the 911 will arrive.

According to Matthias Mueller, Porsche has hit the brakes and put the car in reverse. The vehicle that was said to become the Porsche 550 will not go into production and has been suspended indefinitely by the Stuttgart brand.
For those who were hoping, expectations are not very reassuring, according to Mueller, since the Baby Porsche will not be for this generation, but for the next generation of Porsche customers. I don’t think more needs to be added; Mueller has been quite clear on the matter.
So one of the projects that promised the most from Porsche has been set aside and will surely cause significant moves from similar models that were being planned on the side of Audi, since Volkswagen did not object to cancelling its own “baby” model.
Whatever the situation on the side of its partners, Porsche is now aiming higher, above the 911 itself, since it has in mind a model positioned above it and costing around 350,000 euros.
Frustrated to learn that your hopes of buying a cheaper Porsche have gone down the drain? Perhaps not, since the consolation of the Audi R4 has had the green light for a long time, although you can see how the bosses of Volkswagen change their minds.
