Porsche Macan: prices and equipment

The Porsche Macan, the brand’s mid-priced SUV offering, is now on sale in our country. It sits below the Porsche Cayenne, being more compact, and is an alternative to the Audi Q5 (with which it shares its platform), the BMW X3 or the Mercedes GLK.

The engine range available will consist of two petrol engines and one diesel. The petrol versions are the Macan S and the Macan Turbo. The former offers a 3.0-litre V6 engine, twin-turbocharged, with 340 CV, while the latter features a slightly more potent V6 with 3.6 litres of displacement, twin turbochargers and 400 horsepower. The Macan S Diesel offers a 3-litre V6 with 258 horsepower, though it uses a single turbocharger.

From the base versions, the Macan comes with a very comprehensive standard specification. The Macan S offers hill start assist and hill descent control, stability control with trailer stabilisation, traction control and tyre pressure monitoring. Driver’s seat with 8-way electric adjustment, artificial leather and Alcantara upholstery, two-zone climate control, electrically folding exterior mirrors, automatic tailgate, light and rain sensors, a 4.8-inch colour display in the instrument cluster, CDR Plus radio with MP3, 11 speakers and a DVD player. Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones or a USB port are available as options.
