The Porsche Macan road test in Spain
Spy video showing the smaller brother of the Porsche Cayenne, the Macan, being tested on Spanish roads.

After learning the definitive name Porsche would use for the Cayenne’s smaller brother, we were lucky enough to come across a spy video that shows very clearly the new shapes that will be used for the entry point of the German brand’s range.
The Macan’s final tests are currently taking place on Spanish soil, something that no longer surprises us as much as it used to. In fact, it is common to see prototypes driving on our roads, and even more so in the Sierra Nevada area, since it is an ideal place to run altitude and temperature tests.
Although it is hard to believe from the video, the Porsche Macan will take the base of its cousin, the Audi Q5, with which it will share its platform and part of its mechanics, although the latter will first pass through Porsche’s hands for tuning more typical of the brand.
Under the bonnet there will be a range of inline four-cylinder and V6 engines, both petrol and diesel, which could range from 220 CV for the base engine up to 370 CV for the top of the range.
This SUV/crossover will reach the production lines of the Leipzig factory at the end of next year, but before that it will be officially presented at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
