Preview and timetable for the 2018 MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix
The 2018 Catalan Grand Prix of motorcycle racing takes place on 15, 16 and 17 June. Check the timetable here so you don’t miss anything that happens this weekend.

The motorcycle world championship returns this weekend, on 15, 16 and 17 June, with the seventh round of the 2018 calendar. It will also be the second one on Spanish soil, because after the Spanish GP at the Jerez circuit we now have the 2018 Catalan GP at the Montmeló circuit.
This Grand Prix has been run at the Barcelona circuit since 1992, first as the European Grand Prix (whose first edition was a year earlier, at the Jarama circuit) and, since 1996, as the Catalan Grand Prix. The rider with the most wins at this GP is Valentino Rossi with ten, seven of them in the premier class, followed by Jorge Lorenzo with five, four of them as a MotoGP rider.
Precisely Lorenzo has been the main protagonist in the build-up to this Catalan GP. After his victory at the Italian GP, his first as a Ducati rider, the Balearic rider hinted that this did not change his plan to leave the Italian team at the end of the season. And sure enough, the rumours were confirmed shortly afterwards, when Honda announced the signing of Lorenzo, who will share the garage with Marc Márquez from 2019.
Before that, of course, the non-renewal of Dani Pedrosa at the Repsol team Honda was announced, after 18 years riding bikes from the Japanese manufacturer. Who knows what the future holds for the rider from Sabadell, but we already know he will not be at Suzuki, since the brand announced that, alongside Alex Rins, another Spanish rider, Joan Mir, will take the vacancy left by Iannone, who will ride for Aprilia in 2019.
All these market moves have dominated the news in recent days. But this weekend the focus must be on what happens in Montmeló, and on the direction the MotoGP World Championship as well as the Moto2 and Moto3 categories take. And the first thing, so as not to miss anything, is to know the timetable.
