Prodrive Hunter, the off-road hypercar that comes from the Dakar

From the most demanding race in the world comes this model, which aims to become an off-road hypercar built for the deserts of the Middle East.

The Dakar usually features impressive vehicles aiming to triumph in one of the toughest events on the rally circuit. In this case, this model has been brought to market: born for the race, but destined for the road. Admittedly, it is aimed at a very limited and special market, that of hypercars, although here it is dedicated to the harshest and most challenging terrain.

The Prodrive Hunter competed in the Dakar with Sebastian Loeb at the wheel. For the production version, several aspects have been improved to bring it into the super-luxury domestic sector. And the truth is that it has become a highly desirable car for enthusiasts of extreme off-roaders. It is also a hypercar, with everything that entails.

Designed for the desert

This model has been conceived for the desert. Its potential customers are residents of the Middle East, where luxury is present, but classic supercars, which need road and track, are limited by the environment in which they live.

The Prodrive Hunter benefits from more power and better performance than the competition version. Power reaches 600 CV and 700 Nm of maximum torque. That figure doubles the power of the model that took part in the Dakar, making it a vehicle to be reckoned with, capable of tackling almost any terrain in great style.

The engine is a 3.5-litre V6 block, and the figures it achieves allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The 400 mm of suspension travel, the braking system with ventilated discs and six-piston calipers on all four wheels, along with the 35-inch off-road tyres, are the weapons that allow it to move quickly and confidently over such demanding terrain.

To get hold of a Prodrive Hunter you must pay £1.25 million, plus taxes. The equivalent price is €1.49 million plus taxes. But for enjoying the sands of Qatar or the United Arab Emirates, that is nothing when it comes to exciting adventures across the dunes.
