The numbers seem to be improving in the automotive world. The results of the brands seem to be moving in the right direction and sales are experiencing an increase. At least production is growing in several plants, including the Volkswagen plant in Navarre.

Passenger car production in Spain has risen by 5.7% this year, and the Navarre plant is no exception to this trend. The main vehicle leaving the assembly plant is the Volkswagen Polo, whose latest generation is being produced at this Spanish plant.

The factory in the Foral Community of Navarre has produced just over 176,000 units during the first half of the year. This amounts to 1,400 cars a day and represents a 14.8% increase over the same period last year. Of all these vehicles, most have been the Volkswagen Golf.

94,000 Volkswagen Polos have come off the assembly line, destined for all the markets where this popular model is sold. Of this total, 82,000 cars correspond to the previous generation, which has gradually disappeared until being replaced by the one currently in production.

The main markets where the Polo is exported are Germany, with 21% of production; France, with 16.1%; Italy, which accounts for 11.9%; and Turkey, the market to which 8% of the model’s production is destined.

The factory, located in the town of Landaben, is preparing the launch of the Volkswagen Polo GTI, which will be ready to reach international markets from November onwards, including the demanding Japanese market. It employs 4,389 people and last year produced 289,589 units of the Volkswagen Polo.
