Production of the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat paused due to unprecedented demand

FCA still can’t believe it. Dodge, one of the brands that until very recently was on the verge of disappearing, is now enjoying a sweet moment with its new models.
Although the new generation of the Viper has not yet caught on with the public as expected, the Hellcat versions of the Charger and Challenger are ruling the roost with an iron fist.
Let’s remember that the Hellcats are the most beastly and powerful versions of the range. Specifically, both the Charger (saloon) and the Challenger (muscle car) share a powertrain, a supercharged 6.2 V8 engine with a compressor that delivers no more and no less than 707 CV and 880 Nm, monumental figures that turn them into supercars with performance on a par with the best cars in the world. We are talking about cars that reach 330 km/h with acceleration figures that are absolutely heart-stopping.

Such has been the warm reception these models have received that the brand has announced it is stopping order intake for these two models for a limited but indefinite period, in order to organise its deliveries and lead times a little. Demand has completely exceeded Dodge’s expectations, so much so that in the first five days of sale alone, more than 4,500 orders were received, a figure the brand had considered possible over a full year.
Besides the astonishing performance figures of these models, another factor behind this resounding success has been the selling price of both. The Challenger SRT Hellcat has a recommended price in the US of $59,995, which gives it a truly unbeatable price-to-performance ratio.

Both versions were launched in November 2014, and since then they have not stopped receiving praise from both critics and the public, which leads us to think there is still a little room for these irrational and crazy creations.
