Project CARS: this is what the next generation of car video games will look like

As you can see in the images, Gran Turismo 6 and other games that interest us (car games, or what else?) are about to get a competitor that promises a lot, at least in the graphics department; and if you don’t like the graphics that are anticipated for Project CARS, you’re not from this world.
Before the suspicions start, let me say that the game’s developers have sworn that these images are not digitally treated, nor are they photos of real cars as they may appear. They are simply snapshots of the game, as it will look in its final version to be released at the end of next year, most likely taken from a computer powerful enough to handle them.
The first comment I want to make about the images is that a grass with this much detail has never been seen before, nor asphalt as detailed as that of Project CARS. The second is to qualify the point a little, if anything, since such beautiful graphics are always countered by the “fear” that the physics will not be what we expected , which can turn out to be frustrating at the slightest error in the game or in our perception of movement and how a car should react in certain situations.
As for the graphics, opinions have been divided. I have shown these images to some friends who know more about the world of video games than I do, and there has been no agreement; some say Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo can match these graphics, others say they don’t come close. It’s a matter of personal taste, but I think something could be done about the water drops that remain motionless on the bodywork while the car is (supposedly) moving.
These are undoubtedly images to indulge in a little, while we wait for 2014, which looks like it will be a promising year for those of us who enjoy car games.
