RACE offers free vehicle inspections and technical advice

The Royal Automobile Club of Spain, RACE, in collaboration with Heron City, has launched a vehicle condition inspection campaign after detecting an 8% increase in the number of roadside assistance call-outs compared with the previous year. The campaign will focus on the importance of regularly checking the condition of the vehicle to prevent breakdowns, especially during the winter months.

According to RACE, the campaign will help address delays in scheduled maintenance inspections of vehicles and the progressive ageing of the car fleet; nearly 40% of cars on the road are more than 10 years old.

RACE mechanics will carry out a general diagnosis of the vehicles taking part in the campaign, in addition to offering mechanical advice to prevent breakdowns and optimise vehicle performance. Travel increases during the Christmas season, which is why RACE wanted to collaborate on these inspections.

Alongside the mechanical inspections, the campaign will include a programme of training workshops, where road safety experts from RACE will inform participants about topics of interest, such as: recommendations for winter driving, advice on the use of child restraint systems, new automotive technologies, and tips for efficient driving.

The campaign is free of charge and will run from 20 to 23 December at Heron City Madrid (Las Rozas), from 11:00 to 20:00.
