Renault Electric Cars Curiosities
Renault covers 1,600 kilometres with the electric Zoe
Renault has set a record for the longest distance covered in an electric car in 24 hours, 1,600 kilometres with the Renault Zoe, certified by Guinness.

The time has come for records, distances of thousands of kilometres on a single charge. In short, to see which of all the electric cars is more gifted than the other, to put it politely. The latest demonstration of endurance tests has been carried out by Renault, covering 1,600 kilometres almost non-stop in 24 hours.
That test did not take place on public roads, since that would have been a somewhat more realistic demonstration of a mileage record. So that the Zoe would not suffer any setbacks, the decision was made to carry out the test on a closed circuit, specifically at the Aubevoye circuit, located in Normandy.
The average speed of “the adventure” was around 70 km/h, and the Zoe had to be recharged nine times during the journey, which at least gives us a respectable range for an electric car, of approximately 162 kilometres.
The route was monitored by a representative of Guinness, so it will not be long before it is published in the official record book. It is worth mentioning that the previous record was held by another French electric car, the Citroën AX CEA, which travelled 1,280 kilometres in 24 hours; the Nissan Leaf managed only 1,243 kilometres.
