Renault Hippie Caviar Motel, the electric Kangoo designed to serve as a base camp
This version of Renault’s electric commercial vehicle is built to take on the challenge of becoming a base camp for outdoor sports

Some time ago, Renault unveiled the Renault Hippie Hotel, a vehicle designed for adventure and outdoor leisure based on the Renault Trafic. Now, the French brand has launched the Renault Hippie Caviar Motel, which uses the Renault Kangoo as its base. In this case, the vehicle has a clear purpose: to become the base camp for users who want to enjoy outdoor sports and leisure in nature.
It is set to debut at the IAA Hanover Transportation show on September 19. It is described as a “itinerant, versatile and fun shelter for adventure and sports enthusiasts who seek open spaces and thrills“. To this end, several charging points have been installed to hold various sports accessories.

The roof storage space has been adapted to carry skis and inside there are spaces to store other sports equipment, so it is perfectly suited to its role as a base camp for adventure.

On the outside, it features a two-tone colour scheme and a graphic depicting a mountain. The Hippie Caviar Motel emblem can also be seen, along with a red blurred design on the rear windows. As for the interior, no images of the cabin have been published, but the brand has assured that it incorporates several recycled and eco-friendly materials.
The rear bench can be converted into a bed, and occupants can rest and gaze at the stars through the transparent panoramic roof.
This concept model is based on the Kangoo L2 E-Tech Electric, so it is equipped with a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers a 90 kW motor, equivalent to 120 CV. This gives the vehicle a range of 245 kilometres and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.6 seconds.
