Renault Kadjar 2019: now with more powerful and efficient engines
The Renault Kadjar receives a slight restyling, complemented by better interior finishes and a more efficient engine range.
The Renault Kadjar, one of the most popular SUVs on the market, will be renewed for 2019. The French crossover receives a subtle change to its design, accompanied by a more comfortable cabin, better finishes and, above all, a more efficient engine range.

Interior: higher perceived quality
The new Renault Kadjar features an interior with better finishes, which sets it apart from the old Kadjar through its higher perceived quality. The use of satin chrome-finished materials stands out, along with backlit controls on various switches and new, more ergonomic seats (offering more foam, greater longitudinal adjustment and firmer side bolsters) with contrasting upholstery.

More efficient petrol and diesel engines
In order to comply with the new WLTP homologation regulations, Renault has refined its engine range for this new Kadjar. The mid-size SUV’s range of powertrains has improved its consumption and emissions levels. The engine line-up for the new Kadjar is as follows:

- 1.3 TCe engine: this four-cylinder petrol engine is available in two power outputs: 140 CV and 160 CV. Both options come with a manual gearbox or an automatic dual-clutch gearbox. This powertrain was built in collaboration with Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) and is already used in models such as the Renault Captur, Scenic and Megane, or the Mercedes A-Class.
- Blue dCi 115 and 150: this diesel engine is also available with two power options: 115 CV and 150 CV. Both variants have gained power over the engines they replace: 5 CV in the case of the first and 20 CV in the case of the second. In addition, this engine uses selective catalytic reduction technology (SCR), which reduces its pollutant emission levels.
4×4 traction: ready for all terrains

The all-wheel-drive system of the new Renault Kadjar is adapted for all types of terrain. It is available with three driving modes:
- 2WD (front-wheel drive): in this operating mode the car sends power only to the front wheels, which saves fuel. It is the most used on the road.
- Auto: the system automatically distributes engine torque between the front and rear axles, being able to divert up to 50% of it to the rear wheels. This mode allows the system to react to a possible loss of power due to slippage, so that the car never loses traction.
- Lock: a mode designed exclusively for off-road driving. In this case the power split between the front and rear wheels is fixed at a 50:50 ratio, as long as we are driving below 40 km/h.
