Renault Trafic SpaceClass, for families or businesses seeking greater luxury and refinement

Large families, or businesses dedicated to transporting people, looking for an MPV (yes, we can call it that) with all the equipment and comfort you would find in a saloon will surely look at the market’s stars: the Volkswagen Transporter or the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. But if we don’t need that much exclusivity, we can find interesting alternatives that are just as valid, such as the proposal from Renault: the Trafic SpaceClass.

A couple of months ago, during the 70th Cannes Festival, the Renault Trafic SpaceClass was already spotted transporting movie stars. There, on the outside, we could see how in the Trafic SpaceClass plastics have given way to painted metal in the same colour as the rest of the bodywork, a colour called Comet Grey that is exclusive to this version.

Gloss black is also used to paint other elements such as the mirrors, the door handles, the lower side protections, the rear door handle and the light strip above the number plate. Black also appears on all the side windows of the rear seats and the tailgate glass. Everything is topped off by the front light unit with the new signature lighting thanks to the LED Day Running Light, as well as the 17-inch alloy wheels.

Opening its doors, we find an interior that aims to deliver quality and elegance, thanks to materials such as leather for the upholstery and steering wheel, plus satin-finish chrome and carbon inserts. The roof lining is entirely new in grey, where you will also find LED lighting at the rear, while the floor carpet is black.

It will be available in two different lengths, called L1 and L2, with seating for up to 9 people and up to 50 configurations of its sliding, folding and swivelling seats. In the Business Premium version the Trafic SpaceClass is aimed more at companies, where meetings are no obstacle thanks to the removable central table and its swivel seats, which allow a face-to-face configuration. It is also perfectly suited to adventurous people, but perhaps the Evasión version is more appropriate for them, with a bench that converts into a flat 1.95-metre bed for two people.

In terms of equipment, you get the latest technology and comfort, such as ergonomic heated seats, adjustable climate control for the cabin and passenger area, a 7-inch integrated dashboard screen with a choice between the R-Link Evolution or Media Nav Evolution system, reversing camera, smartphone integration, Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity and 220 V/300 W sockets, among other things.

Mechanically, the Renault Trafic SpaceClass is paired with the 1.6 dCi diesel engine, available in 125 CV or 145 CV outputs, both linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox and compliant with Euro 6C standards. The Renault Trafic SpaceClass will go on sale in various European markets in September, while Spain will receive it in October.
