Renault unveils the Vision 4Rescue prototype for emergency services

With this prototype, Renault aims to demonstrate its ability to offer practical solutions that support emergency services in critical scenarios, through a simple adaptation of its latest electric SUV.

Renault has just presented the Vision 4Rescue, a concept electric vehicle developed in collaboration with Software République, designed specifically for emergency services, with a special focus on fire departments. Based on the Renault 4 E-Tech that we all already know, this model combines advanced technology and practical adaptations to optimise rescue operations in critical situations.

The Vision 4Rescue stands out for its functional styling tailored to the needs of emergency services. Its exterior has an eye-catching look typical of this type of vehicle, with lettering such as “RESCUE” and “SAPEURS POMPIERS” -Rescue and Firefighters in French- on the sides, complemented by yellow and red reflective details that enhance its visibility.

Among the modifications made to the original Renault 4 E-Tech, there is a 15 mm increase in ground clearance, a second electric motor that gives it all-wheel drive (AWD), and an integrated roof structure designed to carry short- and long-range drones. This structure also incorporates equipment to set up an onboard 5G network, a mesh Wi-Fi system to restore communications in disaster-affected areas, and a connected SOS backpack.

Everything necessary

The vehicle’s boot is divided into two functional sections. The upper part features a sliding desk equipped with two screens and a powerful computer, making it possible for emergency crews to set up a mobile command centre to control observation drones and coordinate with personnel on the ground.

The lower section includes two storage boxes designed to hold essential equipment such as helmets, backpacks, tablets and portable radios. Inside, the Vision 4Rescue offers flame-retardant seats made from recycled materials, grab handles and an ergonomic design that prioritises functionality in high-pressure situations.

According to Renault, this vehicle integrates nearly 20 interconnected solutions that standardise the technologies used by emergency services, enabling a faster and more coordinated response. The Vision 4Rescue acts as a connected mobile command centre, capable of analysing situations in real time and adapting intervention strategies to the circumstances.

The French manufacturer states that the development of this vehicle has taken advantage of the features of the Renault 4 E-Tech, such as its low loading lip, a flat and rectangular boot, and its wide rear door, which protects operators from the weather while they work in the mobile command centre.
