The factory that Renault owns in Valladolid is already producing the Mégane (in its different versions) and the Modus (together with the Grand Modus) exclusively. To these models a car based on the Twizy Z.E. will now be added, a Renault concept that is 100% electric, joining the adventure of zero-emission cars.

According to Renault in its press release, the Spanish factory was chosen for its experience and capacity when it comes to developing vehicles. Apart from the models mentioned above, which it produces exclusively, it also produces a part of the new Renault Clio. Furthermore, production will be in Spain for strategic reasons: logistics and transport are cheaper when located close to the target market, which will be Western Europe.

The Spanish factory now has to adapt to be able to produce a zero-emission car for the atmosphere. The model, which we only know will be based on the Twizy, will begin production in 2011. Renault has decided to change direction in its production and start with zero-emission cars.

The Twizy, compact and practical, will be able to meet the demands of future generations in the ecological segment. That it does so in Spain, and that the Valladolid factory has the backing from Renault France , is a privilege we should take advantage of, responding to the trust placed in us and being able to manage orders efficiently. We hope this results in a long life for the factory in Spain.
