Renting could benefit from the new urban speed limits: these are its advantages

The new legislation affecting speed limits in cities has already been implemented. On many streets it is no longer possible to drive above 30 km/h, and this has a considerable impact on our daily lives. But beyond the most obvious effect, which is having to reduce the speed at which we drive, another problem arises that may cause more trouble than we think. In addition, the engine may build up soot and other residues caused by combustion at low revs. This can lead to breakdowns that can make vehicle maintenance more expensive and, above all, the need to replace the particulate filter more often. With the new speed limits, maintenance has become noticeably more expensive, so buying a car for city driving may be somewhat more costly than it was until recently.

Renting includes maintenance in its monthly fee, and this could encourage users, mainly self-employed people and companies, to use this system. Among other things, renting allows the vehicle to be used for the duration of the contract for a monthly fee. This fee includes insurance, maintenance and, in many cases, also tyre replacement, along with other benefits that can be very expensive on a purchased car.

Renting could represent considerable savings for the user, making it a good alternative to buying a vehicle for getting around the city. Renting fleets are focusing on electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, which are the most suitable for urban mobility. By passing the maintenance cost on to the renting company, expenditure is reduced and it is possible to enjoy a very attractive car for a much more modest amount of money.
