Rolls-Royce has announced that it will unveil at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show a special version of the Phantom called Serenity. In a first press release issued yesterday, the British manufacturer describes it as a one-off created by its bespoke design department to express a new benchmark of ultimate luxury achieved in the cabin of a car.

The premises on which the Serenity is based are to offer an unprecedented level of care and creativity in every interior detail, to use the most refined fabrics available (silk being one of the main ones), and to capture the traditional style of the Rolls-Royce once owned by imperial and monarchic families and other world leaders.

The decoration, previewed in a sketch attached to the press release, will combine very high-quality woods with floral motifs typical of kimonos, an exotic touch that is not there by chance. The whole, according to Rolls-Royce, seeks to convey in an innovative way calm and balance to its occupants, hence the vehicle’s name, Serenity.

The drawing reflects features such as an exclusive design for the instrument dials, smoked cherry wood on the centre console, silk upholstery on the roof and floor, mother-of-pearl marquetry on the interior door panels, wood veneer on the lower part of the rear seats, and rear headrests lined in silk.

These cabin modifications constitute the essence of the Serenity, so no changes to the mechanics usual in the Phantom are to be expected. After all, for now it is a model purely conceived to showcase the work of Rolls-Royce in interior finishing. However, it only takes some interest from certain particularly wealthy clients for the manufacturer to make it possible for that serenity to be taken to their mansion or palace.
