Rumor: The Ferrari SUV exists and will arrive in 2010

Recreacion Ferrari SUV

The people at Auto Express are back with more rumours and speculation, or should we say fantasies? According to them, Ferrari is planning an SUV for 2010 which is internally known as project F151. It would be based on the 612 Scaglietti, have five seats and use a V8 or a V12 as its engine (well, Ferrari doesn’t normally use anything else…).

According to them, the main problem they face is how to get the sheer power to the ground in a vehicle of this kind. The two options supposedly under consideration are modifying the Scaglietti’s platform by using high-tech traction control and changing the running gear configuration, or simplifying things by asking Mercedes for one of its four-wheel drive systems.

This infamous creation vehicle would have a price of around 133,000 euros. In my opinion, this is asking for the impossible; that a brand people like should have to accept the most irrational demands in order to keep satisfying customers seems to be an almost written rule for some people; Ferrari will never do anything like that.
