Geneva Show 2012: Nissan

Nissan presented the Invitation Concept and the Hi-Cross as new additions at Geneva, alongside its usual range of models.

Nissan has been one of the brands that brought the most models to the Geneva Motor Show. As soon as we approached the Japanese brand’s stand, we found the brand’s most successful models in the front row: the Qashqai, Murano and two Leaf, next to the Leaf Nismo RC.

However, the new models were not long in coming. We are talking about the Invitation Concept and the Hi-Cross. The former, a mix of crossover and MPV that integrates the new B-segment platform called Squash Line and is intended to be sold alongside the Nissan Juke. As for the Hi-Cross, it is a crossover with a hybrid engine; in fact, it uses the same lithium batteries as the Nissan Leaf.

The Nissan Juke Nismo Concept, presented at the Tokyo show, could not miss the appointment, combining the practicality of the small SUV with the interesting and beastly (for a Juke) 240 hp from its turbo engine. Flanking the Juke, the 370Z GT4 and the indispensable GT-R.

The commercial e-NV200, the world’s first electric van, turned out to be a Nissan Leaf transformed into a van, although the intention of bringing electric motor technology within reach of those who need this type of commercial vehicle is worthwhile.
