Seat publishes its updated prices following the VAT increase

This summer two phenomena are coming together that could considerably hurt sales in the Spanish car market: the end of the Plan 2000E incentives and the increase of VAT to 18%. Some brands, such as SsangYong, or Subaru, have launched offers and discounts that partly soften these consequences, while others even absorb the percentage difference themselves. Seat has not yet announced any similar measure, but its prices remain competitive depending on the models and versions, and financing is still available at 0% APR with a 4-year warranty.
Starting with the Ibiza, in the 3-door SC bodywork, with the 1.2 60 CV engine and the Emoción trim, the price is now 11,812.47 euros, whereas until last month the brand offered an Ibiza for just 9,970 euros, including air conditioning and a small discount. In the 5-door the prices now start at 12,158.10 euros with the same engine and trim, and in the new ST estate with the 1.2 70 CV engine and Reference trim, the figure is 14,618.18 euros.
If we continue with the León, the combination of the 1.4 85 CV
engine and the basic equipment level Emoción costs 15,146.79 euros. However, to better compare with previous prices, Seat was advertising a León 1.2 TSI 125 CV with the Reference trim and the Connection pack, including a promotional discount, for 14,500 euros, whereas now that same car would cost somewhat less than 19,000 euros depending on that price reduction.
In the Exeo saloon, the 1.6 102 CV engine with the Reference trim costs from July 21,892.74 euros, and if we look at earlier offers, the 1.2 TDI Common Rail 125 CV Reference which, with the discount applied, cost 19,900 euros, this summer would drop to a figure below 24,000 euros. In the case of the ST estate, prices start at 23,213.41 euros for the same engine and trim as the basic saloon.
Finally, in the MPV section, the Altea range starts with the combination of the 1.4 85 CV
engine and the Emoción equipment level at 15,146.79 euros. If we look at the promotion that existed for a 1.2 TSI 105 CV Reference with the Connection pack and discount applied for 15,000 euros, from July it will be just less than 18,000 euros.
The Altea XL starts its prices with the 1.9 TDI engine and the Emoción trim at 18,196.48 euros, and if previously the offer of a 1.6 TDI Common Rail 105 CV Reference plus the Connection pack and a promotional discount cost 18,450 euros, now it will cost around 21,000 euros. On the other hand, an Altea Freetrack with front-wheel drive and the 1.4 TSI 125 CV engine sells for 22,110.25 euros. Finally, the Alhambra, whose next generation will launch in September, is offered with the 1.9 TDI 115 CV engine and the Reference Plus equipment level for 28,370 euros.
