SEMA Show 2011: Buick 54 with Mercedes AMG G55 engine

At the SEMA Show, this 1954 Buick is on display, rebuilt by Rad Rides and fitted with a Mercedes AMG G55 engine, along with its complete interior, which includes the navigation system.

Usually the SEMA Show in Las Vegas offers a look at a few cars from “official” tuners and not much else that interests those of us on this side of the pond who aren’t addicted to tuning. However, I must say that when I see a classic car like a 1954 Buick transformed into a Mercedes AMG G55, that’s when I think SEMA is worth it.

What we have here seems like madness, but the world of cars is full of crazy ideas that make our lives more enjoyable. The Fiat 126 with a Yamaha engine or the Honda Formula 1 with two Hayabusa engines are just two examples of this. But do you think a 1954 Buick could become “almost” a Mercedes? Keep reading and you’ll see.

Rad Rides was in charge of turning the Buick into this luxury and power machine. The process was extremely painful for the old car, since the Buick was a restored collector’s vehicle that had to be completely gutted of everything from the interior and engine.

And what other engine would be more suitable than the AMG supercharged V8? The color combination between the engine and the body is truly spectacular.

You haven’t seen anything yet, since the dashboard, instruments and other interior accessories have been replaced with those from the G55, including the navigation system.

I’m a believer that if you spend money on a job like this, every modification should stay under the hood and in the transmission. I would never have modified the interior this way…

muy buena elección de motor, también el interior quedó exelente, el mayor lujo posible, pero en un buick 54?…

    prefiero el interior original…
