Serious accident between a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a Mazda CX-5 in South Africa

Last Sunday, a serious collision took place between a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and a Mazda CX-5 in South Africa, specifically in Johannesburg.
We do not yet know the reasons behind the accident, as it is still under police investigation. What we do know is that the driver of the Japanese crossover had to be taken to hospital, while the driver of the Italian supercar was unharmed and got out on his own two feet, according to Netcare911.
If we look closely at the images, it is no surprise that the driver of the Mazda CX-5 had to be evacuated to hospital. However, the driver of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder must count himself very lucky to have walked away unhurt, since the most damaged part of the Italian convertible is the front right area, that is, the driver’s position (in South Africa they drive on the left-hand side of the road, not the right).

It may be that the low nose of the white Lamborghini acted as a ramp over the crossover, which is why it ended up overturned. We will wait to learn more details in the coming days.
The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera involved is a more performance-oriented version of the standard Gallardo Spyder. It has a powerful 5.2-litre, ten-cylinder V engine that produces 570 hp and 540 Nm. All this power is delivered to the tarmac through all four wheels. Furthermore, it is lighter and more powerful than the standard version, shedding around 70 kilos from the scales and delivering 10 more horsepower. All of this allows it to reach 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and run at a top speed of 335 km/h.
