Lamborghini seeks new customers with the rear-wheel-drive Huracán
The rear-wheel drive of the Lamborghini Huracán LP580-2 and the upcoming arrival of the Urus SUV in two years will allow the popular supercar maker to increase its sales and production to nearly double the current level

Owning a Lamborghini is truly impressive, something most mortals will never be able to enjoy. The brand is one of the most prestigious on the market, and its lineup includes the Lamborghini Huracán LP580P-2, a model that the company hopes will be the catalyst it needs to attract many new buyers.
The argument behind this hope is the introduction of rear-wheel drive, which could lead enthusiasts of this type of drivetrain to take a closer look at the model and be the ones who decide to buy it, joining those who already own one of these marvelous cars in their garage.
Expectations placed on this model are such that the company anticipates orders for it accounting for between 30 and 40 percent of sales. One of the advantages they are counting on is that, unlike its predecessor, the Gallardo LP500-2 Balboni, of which only 250 units were built, no production limit has been set for this model.
Last year, Lamborghini sales amounted to 3,245 units delivered, of which 2,245 were the Huracán LP580P-2, so it seems the targets being pursued are being met without difficulty.

But the expansion of Lamborghini goes beyond this model, as they are preparing the launch of several more models that could reach the market within a few months. By 2018, the brand expects to launch a second SUV, following the LM002, the Urus. According to what we have been told, it would be one of the most powerful and fastest SUVs in the world, leaving the Bentley Bentayga behind.
According to rumors, this SUV will feature a twin-turbo V8 engine, which will take it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds. Its power output remains a mystery, but we know that the addition of this model will raise the brand’s total production to 6,000 cars a year. Considering the quality and price of these models, that is no small feat.
