Sketches of the Nuccio Concept by Stile Bertone

Celebrating Bertone’s 100 years, the Italian house will unveil the Nuccio Concept at Geneva, a radical sports concept.

What can I say. Concepts like these from Bertone or Pininfarina still strike me as spectacular and worth seeing, despite the passing years and the number of concepts of this kind that have been shown and that, in spite of everything, never made it to production. Pininfarina is preparing the Cambiano Concept for Geneva, and Bertone wouldn’t be left behind; here we show you the first sketches of what Stile Bertone will reveal in Geneva.

The Bertone Nuccio will surely be spectacular because it celebrates something that happens only once in a lifetime: the company’s 100th anniversary, founded in 1912 by Giovanni Bertone, father of the famous Nuccio Bertone. According to the only clue given about the Nuccio Concept, it will be a “radical” sports vehicle.

It is not common for a concept of this magnitude to be anything other than hybrid or electric these days. The Nuccio Bertone will be one of those concepts in the old-school Bertone style, with rear-wheel drive and a mid-engine layout, in the manner of those futuristic concepts, one of which is well represented by the Lancia Stratos Zero.

The chances that this car will reach production are slim, but at least Bertone is going to exhibit it in more than one place before the end of this year. It will travel to places as distant as Beijing, the Turin museum in Italy, and the Laguna Seca circuit in the USA, before returning to Italy in the summer. All of this is part of the celebrations for the coachbuilder’s 100 years.
